Development of mobile guides

For those customers who do not want to autonomously carry out all the phases in the creation of guided tours using the MobileGuide CMS sofware or need special customizations, Mobile3D srl can directly carry out some or all the activities listed in the following.

Field measurements

Georeferentiation of points of interests and measurements of GPS quality in the field. Although the referentiation of points of interest can be carried out directly on the map using our Mobile Guide CMS product, some peculiar pedestrian tours in cities might end up in areas where GPS quality is insufficient. This problem can be checked in the field and corrected with a careful planning of the tours that maximizes quality of GPS signal.

Definition of navigation waypoints

Besides maps, MobileGuide is able to give navigation instructions in a more intuitive way: when the tourist reaches navigation choice points (for example, a crossroad), the guide shows a photograph with clear landmarks and an overlayed directional arrow. As we have verified with user studies, the tours that use this way of providing navigation instructions are much simpler to follow. Mobile3D srl can create these visual navigation waypoints to maximize ease-of-navigation of the tours.

Editing and adaptation of contents

Mobile3D srl can edit, adapt and include in the mobile guide the materials provided by the customer in text, pictures, audio, and video format, maximizing their readability and enhancing their visual quality.

User interface customization

Mobile3D srl can customize any aspect of the MobileGuide user interface according to customer needs (graphics, maps, functionalities).

3D reconstructions for mobile guides

MobileGuide is able to present 3D graphics to the tourist. 3D reconstructions allow to show location-based worlds and objects that are not available in the physical world, for example lost archeological heritage. Mobile3D srl provides 3D reconstruction services especially aimed at mobile devices.
